Right now doing Urgent Care in State College, but ………..

August 28, 2011

A  small FYI. I have worked past two months  in Urgent Care and it is a good fit. It reminds me of my old practices where we had same day saves for patients. Parts of Urgent Care are cool-friendly to  my ADD, in that I am constantly going from one patient to another, I am not on call, and I am just treating acute problems.Unfortunately, there are certain issues that I am not thrilled with , and will see if they are resolved.

Urgent Care is exploding in most of the state , except , so far, in Central Bucks area. That should change real soon.I would love to do one , but it costs money, so maybe an investor will  just drop in out of the sky  .That is, to my surprise, many of the patients have simple problems that stem from the shortage of primary care doctors.Meaning, that people can’t get in to see their doctors due to the ever-increasing shortage, and , have to wait weeks if not months , just so they can prescriptions filled or work physicals done , just to name a benign situations

I also have deemed Urgent Care Centers as medical equal to the new primary care ADD offices  .Some  people want to be seen now since they  are impatient or some need to be seen now, since they have procrastinated just a tad too long. Been there, done that and quite understandable.Hellloooo, Oscar !

Or some want to be seen now , so that they  can take care of things in an orderly, timely process , feel that are still in control and not obsess about it later.  That is foreign to me .Hellloooo, Felix!!

Now that I have has  direct  patient contact past 2 months  on a clinical basis, the recruiters, actually , the malpractice departments of these recruiters ,finally approve of most of my resume. Like, I was going to lose special skills as a family doctor over two years after doing this for 30 years Yeah , right like I was doing neurosurgery in  room 2 .

Still hoping that the PHP and PHMP might  let me finish this  program early,  instead of another 1 1/2-2 years . Especially after the original psychiatrist wrote a letter stating he made an incorrect diagnosis which put me in  this program. It would be nice if they would allow that, but I guess I am still being punished for The Adult ADD . Time will tell or as I occasionally have muttered , IT IS WHAT IT IS !

See ya

Still Paying the Price

June 15, 2011
Even after a Great letter from Dr.Boyd regarding  his diagnosis change   and literally putting in 2 weeks of 8 hrs/day of work completing government and recruiting applications   , not able to find medical employment.
I guess I might have to leave medicine , since I have been rejected again along with least 100 other opportunities and can’t find work. Unfortunately not busy in office since not able to participate in insurances yet, the economy is tough for everyone and I am still awaiting on my restrictions for prescribing stimulants for ADD.
I will have figure  something out real soon .

The office is open for business

May 5, 2011

As mentioned in the  prior post, after working on my part of Dr. Cheng’s office, and , of course putting up some of my old, cherished ( at least to me )posters, I am ready to be a Family Doctor again.

Also, even though I am not taking insurances for now, that could change if certain factors occur . I also keep learning how the economy has affected on everyone.  So , with Dr. Cheng’s nudging,  hopefully I  will be  taking  credit /debit cards in the near future. Also, I have scaled down my office visit fee , and , it is really not that much more than most co-pays.

My schedule has not been formally set,   so  flexibility initially will accommodate most requests.

I am going to make house calls as I have in the past in a reasonable way. I am  also considering offering home care to almost anyone who desires it , as long as it makes sense about time and cost. That means , I possibly could see more than one person per house call       The cost of the house call partly will be determined after considering certain factors , which  are: 1)  the time  spent  away from the office ; 2) the cost of gas ; 3) how many patients/visit ; 4) location and complexity of the health issues.

Now all I need is a car – just a small  dilemma that will be resolved soon ( my trusted old Toyota RAV couldn’t handle me after 7 years-do you blame it ? )

Take care, and give a call at 267-334-6137

It is time to get back on the horse

April 29, 2011

I am pleased to announce that I am restarting my practice beginning Monday, May 2  at  Dr.Michael Cheng’s office in Horsham, Pa.   As I have mentioned in past posts, this will be a downsized situation, since, nowadays, very few solo doctors are still in practice. Also, this new endeavor is truly a work in progress, and, one of my few strengths that I still retain is flexibility which will be definitely needed by everyone.

One of the valuable lessons I have learned from the traumatic challenges the last 5 yearswas  the need to finally take care of myself as well as I take care of my patients. At this time due to multiple reasons, I will not participate in any insurances. I know this might limit the amount of patients that I see, and I apologize to all in advance.

I do know that I will continue to treat my patients as I have in the past, meaning having a friendly partnership with you as a goal to improve your quality of life.

Right now, you can call my cell number, 267-334-6137, to schedule an appointment or email me at srosan2011@hotmail.com. Right now I am my whole staff, so patience (especially for my ADD patients) is  needed.

So, let’s get this adventure started, and hopefully, this time it will be a fun ride!

Thanks,

Dr. Stu Rosan
